An investigation into Vincenzo Carbone, of Hasbrouck Heights, was launched on Wednesday, June 5, after the Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding prior instances of sexual abuse, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
The investigation found that Carbone sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 in Hasbrouck Heights, Musella said. The affidavit obtained by Daily Voice shows the assaults happened in May 2023, when the victim was supposed to have been in Carbone's care.
On Friday, Aug. 30, Carbone was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault by contact, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
